Last night, something truly magical happened—and I am still in awe.
As part of a new Sacred Circle I’ve joined, each of us has been asked to create a personal shrine in our home—something that honours the women in our circle through the elements of Water, Earth, Air, and Fire.
Maybe because I’d had a stressful week, I found myself feeling resistant. Where on earth would I find space to put a shrine in my house?
But yesterday, I gave myself a stern talking-to. I knew I needed to shift my attitude and become more open-hearted.
I decided to create the shrine in a beautiful, large box lid I found at my parents house, layered with a sacred cloth from one of my card decks (it fit perfectly)—a movable, sacred space I could slide into a wardrobe when not in use.
So I spent time reflecting on what objects to use. For the Wind/Air element—the element I am connected with—I felt drawn to include two bird feathers, an angel wing from one of my necklaces, and a crystal angel.
But there was one problem… I only had one feather.
🕊️ The Feather Request
I put it out to the Universe—if two feathers were truly needed, could another one please appear over the next two days, in time for me to present my shrine?
And ideally… could I actually see the bird from which it came?
If not, I would find another way.
🌌 The Gift Appears
Just hours after my quiet request, I was up at the yard mucking out the field. As I walked toward the gate, a raven landed about eight feet in front of me—and to my absolute astonishment, plucked out one of his own feathers and placed it directly in my path.
This was truly amazing. It is the exact thing I had asked for!
The moment I picked it up, something even more remarkable happened.
A beautiful thoroughbred horse in the neighbouring field, who had been grazing quietly in the distance, suddenly came galloping over.
He wasn’t interested in me at all—he was entirely focused on the feather.
He began blowing forcefully and intentionally on it—over and over—as though infusing it with spirit. He wasn’t sniffing or curious; he was breathing on it with purpose.
This went on for nearly a minute.
I stood in awe, knowing this was not random. It felt deeply meaningful… synchronistic… sacred.
🖤 Raven Symbolism
I was overwhelmed with gratitude that the Universe had answered my request. It felt so fitting that the raven was the one to deliver the feather.
In many spiritual traditions, the raven is seen as a messenger between worlds, associated with magic, transformation, and deep spiritual insight.
This wasn’t just a “yes”—this was a personal delivery by a sacred emissary. A profound blessing.
🌬️ The Sacred Breath
The horse’s reaction was just as moving. The way he came over at the exact moment I picked up the feather, and then began breathing over it, left me speechless.
In many traditions, breath is the essence of air and spirit. It is life force.
Could the horse have sensed the feather’s significance? Could he have been blessing it, infusing it with love and light?
I believe so.
Horses are deeply intuitive, and in my experience, they are spiritually aware beings. I feel I received not just a gift from the raven, but a second sacred contribution from the horse.
One offered the feather.
The other breathed life into it.
🌟 A Deep Blessing
I am left in awe—and deep gratitude—for the natural world and the subtle, powerful ways it communicates with us when we are open to it.
This also feels like a gift from the Universe in response to my shift in attitude.
I went from being stuck in a negative mindset, to fully embracing the task with love, devotion, and joy—for the circle, and for the women within it.
It is also a lovely message from Spirit that we need to focus on the meaningful rather than the frivolous. There was I worried that my shrine was not going to look beautiful or pretty, but this is not what it is about. It is much more important to fill it with objects which are sacred and meaningful. This is also a great lesson for life! We spend too much time focusing on the wrong things, and ignoring the magic around us.
It also feels like no coincidence that I, as the Wind Woman, was given something so sacred and meaningful to represent my own element.
This feather now carries raven and horse medicine, and to me, it doesn’t just represent the Wind…
It represents me.
💫 Wind Woman Wisdom
To others, it may appear to be just a feather.
But to me, it is something magical, sacred, and deeply personal.
I now believe this was not just a sign for the shrine.
It was a personal gift of Spirit—a reminder of who I am, and why I walk this path.
I am a Wind Woman:
A listener.
A messenger.
A breath between worlds.
Wow. What a magical experience!!
What a beautiful experience!!🤩✨🙌🏽 Thank you for sharing this magic with the world.
